Medford City Council split 6-1 to challenge Mayor's stance on an unenforced investment law.

• Medford council votes 6-1 to back challenge to mayor's lawsuit stance. Council President Zach Bears said the city has spent more than $35,000 defending a values-based investment ordinance after the mayor's office told a federal court it would not enforce it, a stance state Sen. A Medford advisory committee reported 51 percent participation in the city's composting program, calling it higher than most cities.
