Veterans Memorial Baseball Dugouts Get Sign-Off After Renovation
The Medford Conservation Commission this week approved certificates of compliance closing out renovation work at two town athletic facilities.
MEDFORD --
TOWN -- The Medford Conservation Commission voted Oct. 7 to issue certificates of compliance for two recreation-facility projects. The first covers the dugout replacement at the Carmine V. Santora Memorial Baseball Diamond at Veterans Memorial Park. The completed work included new concrete slabs in the dugouts, regrading of the site, replacement and realignment of fencing, minor field repairs, new benches, reinstallation of the dugout roof structures, and modifications to make the dugouts ADA compliant. Commission members said they had each visited the site and found the work consistent with the approved order of conditions.
The commission also closed out a project at the John W. Flynn Skating Rink, 300 Elm Street, covering maintenance and repair of drainage structures and pavement in the rink's parking lot. The work included installation of a subsurface infiltration gallery near the area used by the Zamboni and mechanical equipment room. Commissioners said they had inspected the site, including during rainfall, and found the stormwater measures functioning as intended.
