Medford School Committee OKs Updated Chapter 74 Vocational Form

Medford School Committee · Meeting of July 10, 2026

Medford School Committee unanimously approves updated Chapter 74 vocational form for new high school. Meeting remotely in a special Friday session, the seven-member committee voted 7-0 to approve a Massachusetts School Building Authority-requested update reflecting current enrollment and waitlist data. The form identifies four new vocational programs tied to the high school project — dental assisting, criminal justice and protective services, plumbing, and information systems — with plumbing and information systems launching next school year and the other two waiting for the new building, anticipated to open for the 2030-31 school year.

"They've just asked us to update it with more current enrollment and waitlist information," the staff presenter told the committee. The vote came ahead of a Facilities Assessment Committee meeting the following week, which required the form finalized first.
