Medford Conservation Commission Issues Full Compliance Certificate for Macklin Road Subdivision

MEDFORD — November 4, 2020 — Medford Conservation Commission unanimously issues full wetlands compliance certificate for Macklin Road subdivision. The five-member commission voted 5-0 at its November 4 remote meeting to issue a full certificate of compliance — upgrading from the partial certificate originally requested — for a three-lot subdivision on Macklin Road filed by Valcheck Properties under DEP file number 2150212. Engineer Ben Minnix of Eagle Brook Engineering submitted updated site photographs the morning of the hearing showing completed deck stairs and established grass cover within the 100-foot buffer zone of a bordering vegetated wetland and intermittent stream. Two of the four originally listed incomplete items — a roof drain leader connection and ornamental shrubs — were confirmed to fall outside the buffer zone entirely. Commission members held extended debate over how to ensure silt fencing would be properly removed from the buffer zone before the imminent property sale, ultimately agreeing that Conservation Agent Dennis would hold the signed certificate until he inspected a relocated erosion control barrier staked near the cul-de-sac curbing, with a site visit planned for Friday afternoon.
