Medford Bicycle Advisory Commission falls short of quorum after two Harvard Street hit-and-runs. Only Chair Chris Stivers, Secretary Bruce Kulik and member Jared Powell attended, one short of the five needed to vote, after Vice Chair Emily O'Brien and four other members missed the meeting. Members discussed a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries at Harvard and Winchester streets and a separate incident near Harvard Avenue in West Medford, agreeing to add both to next month's agenda.
"That is a route that we send people on all the time," Powell said. The town's transportation official, referred to only as Todd, is pursuing a contraflow bike lane on Park Street, a delayed Clippership Drive project, and a Main Street redesign now targeted for spring 2027 construction, alongside an 18th Blue Bikes station expected near Tufts in October.
