Medford Zoning Board of Appeals grants use variance for second home on an oversized Lincoln Road lot. The board voted 4-0 to let Samuel and Beverly D'Agostino build a roughly 2,657-square-foot single-story home alongside their existing house at 70 Lincoln Road, with attorney Kathleen Desmond arguing the "doctrine of merger" left the couple no other path to downsize while staying in Medford. Neighbor Kim Olivieri raised concerns the design would "appear to be a two story structure," but Beverly D'Agostino countered, "I don't want you to think it's two levels... it's one level." The board also approved special permits converting a six-bedroom home at 493 Main Street into a two-family, allowing a garage in a front-yard setback at 21 Water Street, and clearing a Jordanian-Moroccan cafe, Miss Yan, for a vacant storefront at 121 Boston Avenue.

A cannabis-delivery permit at 114 Mystic Avenue was continued to July 30 over a city-state ordinance conflict.
