Medford parking permit renewals open Nov. 1
The City of Medford announced that annual resident parking permit renewals for 2027 open online Nov. 1 and in person Nov. 2 at City Hall, with seniors 65 and older served first in person.
The City of Medford announced Oct. 19 that residents who participate in the Resident Parking Program, or in the Municipal, Business, Realtor or Home Healthcare Worker parking programs, must renew their permits for 2027 before their current permits expire Dec. 31, 2026.
Seniors age 65 and older can renew free residential parking permits in person starting Monday, Nov. 2, at the Parking Department Office in City Hall. All other residents can renew online beginning Nov. 1 or in person beginning Nov. 2, with seniors served first for in-person renewals. The city recommends seniors arrive early to avoid long lines.
Anyone renewing in person must bring a valid vehicle registration and driver's license, and the name on the license must match the registration, with both documents showing a current Medford address. Landlord, home health care and postal permits must be obtained in person at the Parking Department office.
Vehicles with outstanding Medford parking citations more than 21 days old will not receive a new permit until the citation is paid. Citations can be paid online until they are 90 days past the issue date; after that, a hold is placed on the vehicle's registration with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and the citation must be paid in cash at City Hall or by mail with a U.S. Postal Service money order sent to Medford City Hall, Room 110, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, Medford, MA 02155. An additional $10 late fee is added after 21, 60 and 90 days, and lifting an RMV hold may carry an added $20 fee per citation.
Residents with questions about unpaid citations can email parking@medford-ma.gov or call 781-393-2463.
