MEDFORD -- June 2, 2020, Medford Conservation Commission informally cleared a DCR pathway repair at MacDonald Park under a wetlands exemption, requiring no formal filing. Meeting remotely June 2, the four-member panel reached consensus that replacement of existing asphalt paths in-kind at the park qualifies under the minor project exemption provision of 310 CMR 10.02(2)(B)(2)(E), allowing Conservation Agent Dennis Condon to handle the matter administratively with a follow-up site visit to confirm erosion controls. Condon also updated commissioners on three Chapter 40B affordable housing applications in Medford, noting the city is appealing a state determination to housing court after the state sided with an applicant's calculation of approximately 1.2 percent affordable land coverage against the city's figure of roughly 1.9 percent. A certificate of compliance for a Rover Road Extension property where permitted work was reportedly never done roughly 20 years ago is set for the commission's June 17 meeting.
