Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of October 13, 2026

Medford's Community Preservation Committee opened FY27 hearings on five funding requests without taking any votes. ABCD's Joshua Weitz sought $117,000 for a rental-assistance and case-management program serving "at least 20 low-income families." Facilities Director David McIntyre requested roughly $300,000 for City Hall limestone facade repairs and $51,000 for ADA-accessible drinking fountains, prompting member Doug Carr to call the facade fix "an expensive band-aid." Recreation Director Kevin Bailey said Condon Shell lighting costs rose to $145,821, "roughly $50,000 above what I originally requested," and proposed shifting funds from a $432,000 Tufts Field award, with a formal vote set for October 27. DPW separately sought $264,000 for Victory Park court resurfacing and $75,000 for open-space tree plantings.

The meeting closed on a 6-0 roll-call vote to adjourn.
